1. Personal Data

When you access the Website, Home Control and/or its third party service providers may automatically collect and store certain personal information and/or data about you, including but not limited to your IP address, operating system, browser, name, email address and other information you directly provide to Home Control.

Home Control respects your privacy and ensures that the personal information provided by you is treated as confidential.


2. Objective

Home Control is the data controller of the personal data collected by the use of the Website. As data controller, Home Control shall, alone or jointly with others, determine the purposes and the (legal and technical) means (see article 4) of the processing of personal data.

Home Control uses several means to optimize your experience and detect possible (technical) issues related to the Website. Home Control collects and processes personal information related to its Website users to offer a safe, comfortable and personalized experience when visiting the Website.

To gather statistics about traffic and traffic sources, Home Control uses Google Analytics as data processor. A data processor is a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or any other body which processes personal data on behalf of the data controller. The data processor must be a separate legal entity with respect to the data controller. Google Analytics generates statistical and other information about the Website use by means of cookies, which are stored on your computer. The information generated relating to the Website is used to create reports about the use of the Website such as traffic and traffic sources. Google will store this information. At no point does Google store personal information; it only stores anonymous data such as (but not limited to) connection time, device used and location.

6. Access, correct or delete personal data

Please note that the removal of your personal data from our servers and databases may not delete information stored in our data backups and archives, which we reserve the right to maintain for purposes of compliance with our legal obligations, but which we will delete in the normal course of our business.


7. Right to object

You can object to the processing of your personal data:

  • if there are sufficient legitimate and weighty grounds relating to your particular situation. The exceptions provided in article 5, (b) and (c) of the Belgian Privacy Act are also applicable to this right to object;
  • for purposes of direct marketing; or

11. General provisions

This Privacy Policy shall be exclusively governed by and interpreted in accordance with Singapore laws unless otherwise determined by mandatory legislation of your country of residence. Any dispute arising under or relating to Home Control’s website shall come under the jurisdiction of the competent court of the judicial district where Home Control has its registered office to the extent permitted by applicable law. If any provision of this Privacy Policy is deemed invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the validity of such provision shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions which shall remain in full force and effect.
